After 30 years, we are sad to be announcing the departure of Kathy Archibald from Evans Weir. A mainstay of the business, Kathy has been the welcome face of Evans Weir, meeting and greeting clients in both the Chichester and Drayton offices and providing valuable office support to the Directors and accounts team.
Kathy joined Evans Weir as a part time typist in June 1987 following a successful interview with Roger Swaffield. As time ticked by she has taken on more and more responsibilities; assisting with bookkeeping and accounts prep to managing the day-to-day running of both offices. Initially working school hours, Kathy moved to a full-time role as her boys, now both in their 30s, grew up and flew the nest.
In these modern times, few people will stay with a single business for as long as Kathy has been with Evans Weir and her memories make for an interesting view of the company over three decades – everything from running a highly successful Bradford and Bingley franchise out of the Drayton office (which folded inside 12 months when B&B took it in house), to working with some rather eye raising businesses! It is the client interaction that Kathy says she will miss the most and she hopes to be remembered for her smile and welcome!
Kathy and her husband Malcolm, will be moving to Llorca in Spain in mid-October for a warm and sunny retirement together. Not one to sit still Kathy will be enjoying walking in the hills around Murcia and learning Spanish.
On behalf of everyone at Evans Weir, past and present, I would like to extend my thanks and best wishes to Kathy and Malcolm.
