The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, which received its royal assent in October, will herald a major shake-up for Companies House. The new legislation is set to introduce new powers which will allow UK authorities to proactively target organised criminals, reduce fraud, improve security, and enhance company data.
When you split a business to avoid registering for VAT it is called disaggregation and HMRC can perceive this to be deliberate tax avoidance, which carries penalties and could see them treating all the individual businesses as a single entity and taxing them all equally.
